Well… its been .. like FOREVER since I blogged!  I apologize for not keeping up with it better.  I have been fighting bursitus and celulitis in my left elbow and it is painful and has hindered my creativity for a bit.

But while I was relaxing my brain and arm, I came up with yet another Etsy store.  My new store is called Fancie Furries!!!  A custom pet peg doll or keychain store.  I adore my pets and thought I would let others enjoy the love for their pet like I do.. in a Fancie Fannies way!  That makes three stores for me.  I also have Fancie Fannies Bridal!

Blast From The Past!

May 6th, 2010 by Pattie

There are memories that my mom used to share with me about toys from her childhood.  One was clothespin people.  She used her imagination to create faces, clothes, hair etc!  So why not introduce this awesome blast from the past to your child?

When I started Fancie Fannies it was a cloth diaper company because I truly thought that alot of the things from the past worked better and were better for children.  Then the birth of Fancie Fannies dolls happened and things havent slowed down since.  So I bring back imagination toys to your kids.  :o)

I have never been so aware of my breasts!

May 3rd, 2010 by Pattie

I think pink is beginning to be my favorite color these days.  I have committed myself, my family and Fancie Fannies to finding a cure, supporting  people recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer.   Recently I donated 50 hand painted keychains to raise money for The Walk To Empower for the Mother’s Day walk on May 9, 2010.

mamobus-003

After spending the day with all the women who came to get free mamograms from Umbrella Plumbing, I was truly aware of the need to fight against this disease.  Cancer is ugly and painful and scary.   My mother, Joan Wedow, died 12 yrs ago from Breast Cancer that went into her bones.  That day changed my life forever and put me in a denial type state about Breast Cancer.  I didn’t know if I wanted to find out my risks or to get a mamogram myself.  But after this day, I am sure we all should take whatever precaution we can to fight this ugly thing that turned my world pink!

My prayers are with all those who fought and are fighting cancer and pray that the Lord comforts them and their families while they fight for their lives.  Please pray along with me for them as well.  Not just Breast cancer but cancer in general!

What do you plan on doing to help fight this disease??

I love the USA

April 15th, 2010 by Pattie

I totally consider myself a Patriot.  I believe in the Constitution as it was written by our forefathers and I also try and support our armed forces in any way I can.  My dad is a Navy vet who fought in the Korean War on the USS Iowa Battleship.  He and so many others fought for all of the freedoms we have today.  I admire my Dad for doing what he did for his family and his country.

I celebrate my freedom everytime I see someone in uniform by thanking them for their service.  You too, can celebrate someone serving our wonderful country by getting a wooden peg doll painted in their image at Fancie Fannies.

Sports Nuts

April 6th, 2010 by Pattie

hc-1152hc2-064hc2-150I am a die hard football fan.  My team of choice is the Kansas City Chiefs.  I have coats, hats, tshirts, hoodies, gloves, socks, earrings etc.  No underwear or bras though!  Am I considered a nut?  Why yes, I do believe I am.  At my funeral people will say, Pattie loved her Chiefs even though they stink most seasons.  She was faithful and everyone knew which team was hers!

At Fancie Fannies I nurture the nut in all of us!  I have my own little Tony Gonzalez doll I painted myself on my Chiefs shelf in my studio.  But everyone has their own little thing they are nuts about.  Some love Nascar, others love baseball, I have had some even love TV shows.    Just remember I am nuts and I can help you stay nuts too!

Bridal Season

April 5th, 2010 by Pattie

hc2-005It is bridal season again and it’s my favorite time of year.  I love weddings, I love the beauty, the passion, the romance and pretty much all of it.  I have always loved weddings and wanted to be a part of them for years.  Now I am, I make cake toppers and  sell them on my Etsy store Fancie Fannies Bridal.  They are hand painted in the likeness of my customers.

Details.. that is my favorite thing to paint.  The more details the better!  I like to keep my prices at an affordable rate and give you more for your money then others out there.  Fancie Fannies Bridal is a passion.  The New York Times has featured my dolls last September.  That was the day I felt like someone loved my work as much as I loved painting it for them!hc2-1451

hc2-129What better way to express your babywearing love then with this adorable wooden peg doll

A friend of mine Jillian has this great store called PAXbaby.com and Sproutsoup.com and they promote safe babywearing.  I am working with her making Fancie Fannies keychains to promote it as well.  Below are some interesting articles regarding babywearing!  You can purchase your safe sling to wear your baby safely at the above web sites!
